Virgin Atlantic reward seat checker: which Upper Class seats are open now?

This list needs no account. It is the cheapest Upper Class reward seat we hold to each city Virgin Atlantic Flying Club flies to from London Heathrow, read from Virgin Atlantic's own reward search, one adult, one way, and it updates through the day.

What does the Virgin Atlantic reward chart cost per cabin?

Virgin Atlantic does not price reward seats from a fixed chart: the same flight costs a different number of Virgin Points from one date to the next. The table is the chart as it stands today: the cheapest seat we hold to each city from London, in each cabin.

The live list did not load this time. The same seats are on the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club page.

In the October 2026 study, Upper Class seats started at 23,000 Virgin Points, and the middle half of route prices ran from 305,000 Virgin Points to 350,000 Virgin Points. A typical price is the median of each date's cheapest seat, so on routes where most dates had only dear seats left it sits far above the lowest seat seen. 350,000 Virgin Points was the typical price on 28 of the 46 routes, and no route was typically higher; on those routes the lowest seat seen started at 29,000 Virgin Points, with a median lowest of 96,000 Virgin Points, and 2 routes never went below 350,000 Virgin Points.

How much cash comes on top of Virgin Points?

A lot: a median of at least $777 on the daily cheapest seat, the highest quoted figure of any program. Leaving the UK cost more cash than flying into it (at least $894 against at least $690); the UK's Air Passenger Duty, higher in premium cabins, is one known part of departure charges, though the study records totals, not their breakdown. The figure is a floor, since MilesZone has not confirmed it is the whole amount; the total is the one Virgin shows at checkout. Programs side by side on cash are in carrier-imposed surcharges by program.

How often does Virgin have Upper Class reward seats?

Often, by award standards: on 71% of the dates read on its routes, and 1 program had seats more often. Cheap is another matter. Virgin was the cheapest program on only 13% of its routes; on 44 of its 50 routes another program had a lower typical price in its own currency. Flying Blue is among the programs that have priced Virgin Atlantic flights for us, though on a given route the cheaper program may be pricing a different flight.

Where do you confirm an Upper Class seat before moving points?

On Virgin Atlantic's own reward seat checker, signed in, for your date and party size. Virgin releases reward seats on its own flights about a year ahead. Points moved in from a bank or card scheme usually cannot be moved back, so check award availability before transferring points.

What do these figures not cover?

  • Virgin Atlantic's own direct flights, priced in Virgin Points with the cash on top, for one traveller. Seats it sells on partner airlines are not read yet.
  • One adult, one way. Two travellers need two seats on the same flight.
  • Departures in the study's 60-day window only, read from September 25, 2026 to October 5, 2026.
  • The live lists read London Heathrow only, and count the next 60 days of departures.
  • A MilesZone alert on a Virgin route is part of Pro, billed monthly or yearly.

Questions.

How many Virgin Points is London to New York in Upper Class?
In the October 2026 study, London Heathrow to New York JFK started at 47,500 Virgin Points one way with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, at a typical 345,000 Virgin Points, with a seat on 32 of 60 dates read, plus at least $951 in cash.
Why is 350,000 Virgin Points the typical Upper Class price on so many routes?
A typical price is the median of each date's cheapest seat, so it shows the price most dates were left with, not the lowest one. In the October 2026 study 350,000 Virgin Points was the typical price on 28 of 46 routes and no route was typically higher. On those routes the lowest seat seen started at 29,000 Virgin Points, with a median lowest of 96,000 Virgin Points.
Is Virgin cheaper from Manchester than from Heathrow?
On the study's routes, yes: Manchester's 2 routes had a typical 220,000 Virgin Points against 350,000 Virgin Points over Heathrow's 23 routes. Manchester serves far fewer destinations, so this compares different route sets.
