How United MileagePlus prices awards

  • United has published no award chart since 15 November 2019: the miles on its own flights move with demand.
  • Partner airlines sell only saver space through United. Everyday awards, which can cost far more, exist only on United and United Express flights.
  • Since November 2025, partner business class to Europe costs 80,000 miles one way for United Premier members and 88,000 for everyone else.
  • The Excursionist Perk, the free extra leg on multi-city awards, ended for new bookings on 21 August 2025.
  • United adds no carrier surcharges to awards. From a US airport the cash is often only the $5.60 September 11 Security Fee, a government fee on each one-way trip that TSA collects, which is a tax and not a United charge.
