How many Avios is Club Europe from London?
A median 16,500 Avios one way, and the table shows how little it moved from route to route. On British Airways' own flights, short-haul business to Europe is sold as Club Europe: a standard seat with the middle one kept free, lounge access and a meal. Long-haul Avios prices from the UK are covered in how many Avios for business class.
| Program | Routes | Median miles | Middle half | Lowest seen | Median cash | Days with a seat | Cheapest on |

Prices are in each program's own currency: Atmos Rewards in Atmos points, British Airways Club in Avios, LifeMiles in miles, Air France-KLM Flying Blue in miles, Thai Royal Orchid Plus in miles. A point of one is not worth a point of another, so read the table as 5 separate price lists, not one ranking of value.

Which program is cheapest for short-haul business class from London?
Atmos Rewards had the lowest median, 15,000 Atmos points, and Thai Royal Orchid Plus the highest, 27,500 miles. The study's "Europe to Europe" pair is not all of Europe: every one of its 32 routes starts or ends at Heathrow or Gatwick, 4 of them within the UK (Edinburgh, Manchester). A flight between two other European cities is not in the sample. Data from the business-class award price study.

The 17 routes into London are in the study data and on each route's page. 81% of the pair's routes had a nonstop seat from at least one program.
Which program has short-haul seats on the most dates?
- Air France-KLM Flying Blue: a seat on >99% of dates on its 8 routes, median 20,000 miles.
- British Airways Club: a seat on 70% of dates on its 23 routes, median 16,500 Avios.
- Thai Royal Orchid Plus: a seat on 69% of dates on its 6 routes, median 27,500 miles.
- Atmos Rewards: a seat on 66% of dates on its 23 routes, median 15,000 Atmos points.
- LifeMiles: a seat on 32% of dates on its 13 routes, median 17,080 miles.
Air France-KLM Flying Blue was open most often. On a short hop the open program usually beats the cheap one, because the price gap between programs is a few thousand points while a missing seat means no trip.
Heathrow or Gatwick for Avios short haul?
22 routes in the pair touch Heathrow, with seats from Atmos Rewards, British Airways Club, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, LifeMiles and Thai Royal Orchid Plus; 10 routes touch Gatwick, with seats from Air France-KLM Flying Blue, LifeMiles, Atmos Rewards and British Airways Club. Gatwick had fewer routes and fewer programs with seats in the October 2026 study.

When is short-haul business class with miles worth booking?
- As the first leg of a long-haul trip. A short business seat from a regional city or a European gateway into London can be cheaper in points than a cash fare, and lounge access before the long flight comes with it.
- On a busy date. Short-haul business fares in cash tend to peak on holiday weekends, which is when an award price set by a chart goes furthest. Not every program uses one: Flying Blue prices its awards dynamically, so its price can climb too.
- When the cash is low. A short-haul award still carries taxes, and on some programs they are a large part of the total. Compare the cash below with an economy fare before you spend the points.
Long-haul from London is ranked in cheapest business class flights from Europe to the US and business class from Europe to Asia with miles.

How much cash comes on top?
- Atmos Rewards: at least $96 median cash.
- British Airways Club: not quoted median cash.
- LifeMiles: at least $58 median cash.
- Air France-KLM Flying Blue: at least $78 median cash.
- Thai Royal Orchid Plus: $127 median cash.
Thai Royal Orchid Plus quotes a complete cash figure where it quotes one. For Atmos Rewards, LifeMiles and Air France-KLM Flying Blue, the cash is a floor: read it as at least this much. British Airways Club quotes no cash amount in the data MilesZone reads, so its taxes cannot be compared.
Questions.
- Does the study cover flights between two European cities outside London?
- No. Every route in the study's Europe to Europe pair starts or ends at London Heathrow or Gatwick.
- Is Club Europe a different seat from economy?
- On British Airways' short-haul planes, Club Europe uses the same seat frame as economy with the middle seat left empty, plus lounge access, priority boarding and a meal. The value is in the space and the ground service, not a flat bed.
