Which program is cheapest for business class to Asia with points?
| Program | Routes | Typical price (median) | Dates with a seat |
|---|---|---|---|
| LifeMiles | 26 | 90,000 miles | 17% |
| Atmos Rewards | 42 | 250,000 Atmos points | 68% |
| Air France-KLM Flying Blue | 6 | 355,500 miles | 4% |
The figures are recomputed for US airports only, with the rules of the business-class award price study: each program's typical price on each route, then the median over its routes, and the share of dates read on which it had a seat. British Airways Club, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Thai Royal Orchid Plus had no business seat between US airports and Asia in the sample. The study counts only seats it read, so that is not proof the program cannot book these routes.
LifeMiles is Avianca's program in Star Alliance, so most of its seats here are on Star Alliance airlines; Atmos Rewards books Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and their partners. The two programs reach Asia through different airlines, which is part of why their prices and open dates sit so far apart.

How should you plan a business award to Asia?
- Fixed dates: expect the price of the program that is open, which here was Atmos Rewards at 68% of dates.
- Flexible dates: watch the cheaper program. LifeMiles was open on 17% of dates, so a wide range gives it more chances.
- Two travellers: a date with one seat open may not have two, and the scarce programs thin out first.
- Before moving points, re-check the exact seat: check award availability before transferring points.
